Spiders

This morning, as I wiped the kitchen table, I found a spider that had died right in the middle of the table. Its little legs folded up underneath it. This time of year we seem to get lots of spiders and grasshoppers in the house. Personally, I rather like it - it’s a sign of the seasons.
I realise that many people don’t like spiders.
It made me think about things that bother us.
Moss has a number of things that bother her. Since she's a Border Collie, they are fairly intense. Hoovers bother her, as do sprinklers or any form of pouring water.
When we were watering the garden (past tense - hose pipe ban), Moss would become totally wired. Her pupils dilate and her body trembles. She can’t help it, she’s not being naughty, there is no point in telling her off. It’s her breeding; she is bred to control movement, and it comes out in all sorts of unexpected ways.
Collies have a tendency towards obsessive behaviour.
I'm not quite sure how to overcome this. I know that if they aren't addressed, these things become more deeply entrenched.
The question is, how to address them effectively?
That's where Captain Calm, the dog trainer, comes in. We don’t have all the answers ourselves - sometimes it’s better to ask for help.
And sometimes we also have to accept some of these issues aren’t solvable, and acceptance is the key.
